Celebrating Youth! - Activities
Under the Big Top - Open Ring Experience - 11am-3pm
In collaboration with Circus World Museum, CircEsteem, JUGHEADS Youth Juggling Company, Mazomanie Flyers, and Madison Unicyclists Wheeling Dervishes. Step into the circus ring and explore the arts of juggling, low-flying trapeze, German Wheel, acrobatics and more. Kids of all ages are welcome to join in the fun! Performances will be interspersed throughout the day as well. See the “Big Top” Stage for the day’s schedule.
Terrestrial Visions – Stellarium, Microcosmos, Youth Produced Shorts, and More!
Come by our screening room, across from the Calliope Stage to see visions or our world and others. Our night sky is filled with kings, queens, monsters, and heroes. Learn how to find these pictures in the sky and hear stories to help you remember them. Then take a thrill ride outside our galaxy to explore the universe. Watch beautiful, colorful close-ups of insects making their way through the world! See youth produced videos from WYOU and more…

Super Music Looper™ -- See how easy music-making can be with a computer program packed with instruments and amazing sound effects!
Robosapiens-- Command a humanoid robot to perform one of his pre-programmed functions or program your own sequence of functions at the touch of your remote controller!
Recyclo’s Constructo-Ville-- Meet a “real” alien and learn other worldly paper sculpting methods while building a fantastic papercity!
Circus World Museum - Circus History and Banner making
Come and help create an authentic circus parade banner representing an “Other World.” Join the parade at 3:30 to march with your banner. In addition, CWM will have an exhibit that will include amazing historic photos, costumes, and more.
Dean & St. Mary's - Healthy Kids Area
Everyone loves Crash Helmet and Happy Heart, Dean & St. Mary’s huggable and educational mascots. Check out their booth for lots of kid-friendly activities with a message – good health and safety!

Come and get your face painted and meet Channel 27 personalities! Come by and let our talented face painting artists add just the right touches to make you “Other Worldly”!
Puppet Farm Arts - Other Worldly Trashy, Wacky, Circus Costumes!
Join Puppet Farm Arts, as it, once again, sets out to transform waste into wonder! We will be making wacky circus get-ups and accessories, designed to launch your everyday self into something truly Other-Worldly! Crazy wigs, wacky hats, antennae, bug-eye glasses, jet packs and alien insect-like life-forms are all in the waste heap, waiting for you to discover. It’s the greatest activity area in the whole… well… Other-World!
Faerie Factory – Faerie Fun!
Stop by the Faerie Factory booth, and get creative making beautiful faerie tiaras, hair clips and bubble wand necklaces with Tatiana Katara. You might have seen Tatiana’s recent faerie works on display at Olbrich Gardens Holiday Flower and Model Train Show this winter. Stop by and see the Faerie Capitol building and submit your wishes for the faerie council. You’ll be inspired and have fun too.
UW Space Place – Other Worldly bracelets!
Explore the science of ultraviolet light with amazing white beads that change colors in the sunlight! Make your own Energy Bead Bracelet, then take it outside in the sunlight to change it into a rainbow of color. Learn about outer space and the other worlds around our own.
Ice Cube – A Window to the Universe at the South Pole
Try on clothing issued to people who work at the South Pole. See one of the digital optical modules that scientists are putting over a mile deep in the Antarctic ice sheet. Watch a video of IceCube activities at the South Pole.
Insect Ambassadors – The World of Insects
Come and explore the fascinating world of insects! We will have live walking sticks, hissing cockroaches and caterpillars to hold
Vilas Zoo – The World of Animals
From 11:00am to 2pm visit with a few of Vilas Zoo’s animals! Learn about our friends in the animal kingdom.
GuildWorks - “Car” Wash and Virtual “Big Top”
Back by popular demand! No water involved, or car needed - just a silly streak and a sense of humor! Kids of all ages are invited to explore this 15’ long x 5’ wide interactive sculptural installation. Thousands of neon streamers will tickle your funny bone as you run through this crazy car wash! GuildWorks also created the extraordinary “Virtual Big Top”!
